Turkish defense giant Baykar unveils largest kamikaze drone in its class

Turkish defense giant Baykar has unveiled the largest kamikaze drone K2 UAV in its class, the latest addition to Türkiye’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) solutions. The K2 recently completed successful flight tests, demonstrating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous swarm capabilities.

LARGEST KAMIKAZE DRONE IN ITS CLASS

During tests, five K2 Kamikaze Drones performed synchronized formation flights, including “V” and “wall” shapes. Equipped with AI algorithms, the drones maintained their positions within the fleet without error. This swarm technology allows the K2, the largest kamikaze drone in its class, to act as a “fendable” (attritable) asset, with future versions planned to return to base after releasing munitions for reuse.

ELECTRONIC WARFARE RESILIENCE

The K2 is designed to operate in environments with heavy electronic warfare. Its navigation system does not rely solely on GPS (GNSS). Using a gimbal camera system with night vision, the drone scans terrain to determine its position autonomously. This ensures the K2 Loitering Munition can reach its target even when satellite signals are jammed.

As the largest platform in its category, the K2 offers significant strategic advantages:

GLOBAL LEADERSHIP IN DEFENSE EXPORTS
