It might also be 2023.

What was all the hype around a mixed-reality headset about?

Usually, Apple tends to perfect their products before entering the market, and when it is estimated as a pricey item like a $2,000 possible-price-tagged headset, people were definitely expecting a superb product. And as Apple was expected to reveal it in 2021 and go mainstream with it at the latest 2022, it became quite the news when the delay was reported. What caused the delay?

Reportedly, some software and hardware challenges (rumored to be overheating and camera issues) caused Apple to revise the expected dates for the product. However, it is known that the new version of iPhone software includes some backend and work done for it to be suitable with a headset. So, it would be safe to think that the date is not that far away.
