The range of an EV is an important aspect of the competition between EV companies such as Lucid Motors and Tesla. After all, a lot of thought and work is put into how to make the best battery, how to make the most efficient car, and how to make the best performing car with the technology at hand. While Tesla is still the biggest player when it comes to EVs, there is a new competitor in the industry that beats a Tesla Model S at the range competition.

What is the range of Lucid Motors’ Air Dream Edition R?

According to the company’s own website, the Lucid Air Dream Edition R can provide up to 520 miles with a full charge. Apart from having the longest range out of all the commercially produced EVs, the company also beats Tesla with the longest range by a huge margin. The new competitor seems to have quite the edge in terms of range.

The EV competition and the price

A good type of competition always pushes the companies to produce their best in terms of the quality of a product. Especially with two amazing engineering teams, it is only a matter of time before one or the other will produce something better. However, for now, even with the worst mileage of the series having 451 miles as range, Lucid Motors seem one step ahead. However, Lucid Air Dream Edition R is still about 70,000 dollars more expensive than a Tesla. So, do your own work about the value-range relationship.
