Tesla market value skyrockets, passing $800 billion for the first time
The electric vehicle manufacturer is approaching $1 trillion.

Tesla toppled Facebook on Friday, jumping as much as 5.6% to become the 5th most valuable US company for the first time. Tesla market value has crossed $800 billion, according to Reuters.
The market value of Elon Musk’s electric vehicle manufacturer closed at $834 billion, compared to $643 billion for Facebook, per Dow Jones.
Thanks to the firm’s surging stock, Musk surpassed Amazon’s boss Jeff Bezos to become the world’s richest person on Thursday.
“How strange,” Tesla CEO Musk tweeted. “Well, back to work.”
Tesla market value climbing
The company’s market value crossed $774 billion in the previous session, placing it behind Google’s parent company Alphabet, Reuters reported.
In addition, the California-based car maker said last week that they produced and delivered half a million cars in 2020.
“Model Y production in China’s Shanghai has begun, with deliveries expected to begin shortly,” it added.
