Artemis 1 Countdown: Here’s How to Track Remaining Days of the Mission
Back to the Moon.

The last Moon landing by NASA was carried out back in 1972, and now the US-based space agency is craving for going back to the Moon years later. The agency prepared a simple page including Artemis 1 countdown.
Artemis 1 mission consists of the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and will be the first integrated flight test of the Deep Space Exploration Systems, according to a NASA statement.
This unmanned mission’s primary goals are to conduct a crew module entry safely, descent, and splashdown. Orion is planned to be on its journey around the Moon, while SLS will carry 13 satellites to execute scientific investigations that will pave the way for manned deep space exploration. Accordingly, Artemis 2 will be the first crewed flight as part of NASA’s demonstration of capability to bring human beings to the Moon and beyond, namely Mars.
Artemis 1 countdown page by NASA
As for NASA’s Artemis 1 countdown page, you can directly see how many days, hours, minutes, and even seconds are left for the mission. The earliest date for the mission is February 12, 2022, when the agency will launch the Moon exploration program. “Artemis I is foundational to the space economy, fueling new industries and technologies, supporting job growth, and furthering the demand for a highly skilled work force,” says NASA.
Launch Complex 39B at the Kenney Space Center will host the first integrated flight test, where the spacecraft will begin its journey to cover a distance of 280,000 miles, or about 450 million kilometers, from Earth to go beyond the Moon during a four to six-week mission. There are several prime contractors working along with NASA for Artemis 1 mission, which are Aerojet Rocketdyne, Boeing, Jacobs, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman.
